Back from a long, long journey

Our vacation was so very memorable, fun, and exciting! We did all the things we hoped to and much, much more. From our drive to visit the Witherspoons in Kansas City, our visit to the WHOLE state of Colorado, and our BONUS trip to Indiana to stay with the Register-Bryants + Purdue was AWESOME!!! Everything went so smoothly and this is something to note since we drove about 6000 miles with three kids in tow. Imogen surprises us the most when we leave home because she becomes more pleasant and much more tolerate to changes in her schedule which is so unImmylike.

So...recap:

Kansas City was a wonderful place to regroup for our camping excursion. The Witherspoon clan was, of course, so hospitable and welcomed us with open arms to their adorable home. We were so happy to FINALLY visit them and get to tour the city. We have to say we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was there and we were very appreciative to see our family and a great city too.

Colorado was amazingly beautiful. We could never relocate there on purpose, as it would feel like we were in a mountain bubble unable to break out, but nonetheless, it is probably one of the most wonderful places to visit and camp (most important :-)). We went north, south, east, and west and I can honestly say I have no idea which place I liked best. With spectacular views all around, not to mention those scary roads without guardrails, we were overwhelmed. I WILL say Ouray stands out in my mind as one of the most beautiful drives I've EVER done but I'll also say I'm glad we survived and didn't drive off a cliff. We'll return again, for sure, but only to sample the goods a few days at a time.

Then comes the bonus excursion: Indiana!

We just thought it would be so nice to drop in on our way home to see the place we get homesick for, and knowing EVERYONE dear to us would be there, we just HAD to. With the Register-Bryants there to so kindly welcome us as well, Abbi's birthday to celebrate, and Aunt Beth's farewell, it was nice to be together and share good times, yet AGAIN!

So now we're back and we just can't believe how lucky we were to see everyone, well nearly everyone, so much this past month. We look forward to the reunion, hopefully Homecoming? I guess we'll see. So again, thank you everyone for all your love and support. We miss you already and can't wait to see you again.

Imogen Turns 2

So I have yet to post anything about Imogen turning two because we waited for everyone to join us down here to celebrate. So yes, Miss Immykins turned two, had a wonderful party with our closest family and friends, and is VERY much the posterchild for the behaviors a two year old may act out as a vivacious toddler. I got this very lovely picture of Imogen from Aunt Abbi and it truly captures who she is and what she loves best of all (as EVERYONE who knows her is quickly aware of), shoes and dresses! Immy brings such joy to our lives as she makes us laugh with her wacky ways and forces us to have a sense of humor every time she violently flops herself on the floor and screams to an octave that was not thought possible so she can make her distress known. I want to thank everyone for tolerating those moments with us this past week and for being understanding of these crazy times. I hope to post more pictures of the actual party soon but wanted to get something on here in honor of Imogen becoming one year older.
