Homecoming 2007

So we had an incredibly fun, whirlwind weekend at Purdue and made it home in one piece! Now were back to the domestic duties that include driving children everywhere (some that scream VERY loudly), cooking, bathing, and along with it, pleasantly nicer weather. It's cooled off a bit and I'm LOVING it. It's gloomy and I love that too. So yes, we miss everyone dearly and want to thank everyone for everything that they did to make homecoming so magnificent for the king and queen/Mr. & Mrs. Incredible combo.!

St. Thomas

So here we are in St. Thomas minus the wee ones. Grandma and Grandpa kindly watched Hadley & Imogen while we did some kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking on the island. We had a blast and the best part (for Tate) was that we got to hike to a hermit crab sanctuary. There were thousands of hermit crabs that naturally existed on this little island off St. Thomas. She was thrilled and the best part was that we did this on her 11th birthday. While snorkeling there we saw tons of jellyfish, baracudas, and tangs, plus lots of other colorful types of fish. It was lots of fun, for sure.

Back to ISR

So, we've been back to ISR lessons again. We took too long a break actually. I should've had them back in the spring, but it just didn't work out. Hadley, is surprisingly great. She retained almost everything from last fall and swims really well. For those who visited this summer this was not quite evident, as we know, but she really is great. Who knew? She can do it but lacks confidence. She's becoming more certain of herself everyday and will only be continuing lessons for the rest of this week, and then will be done for six months or so. Imogen, on the other hand, did not recall much. We wanted to get her to a safer place in the pool before vacation, but this did not work out with scheduling and she only got in about seven lessons before we left. She IS, however, swimming, but NOT floating and will be working on that for the next two weeks. She's cried (screamed) for five out of the last seven lessons but really settled down and started to enjoy herself for the last two. So...now that we're back we'll have to see what happens. One this is for certain, I'll be sure to get her back in for her refresher much sooner now!
