School Begins

So ALL the girls officially began school on Monday and let me tell you, it was HARD. Wow, all of them gone! With the initial chaos, I didn't have time to feel anything, except panicked. Giving ourselves only forty-five minutes to get three girls ready may not have been the best idea, but, ultimately, it worked out. Whew!
Only Hadley got up without complaint. Imogen, on the other hand, was another story. Tate was, is, and has been hard to awaken for about two years now, so there were no surprises there. Imogen complained every step of the way. We spent about twenty minutes just begging her to eat breakfast. I thought she might starve on the first day and I DID feel a little sympathetic since she had no clue what she was getting into, so begging was our best option. Demanding anything from her is almost always bound to backfire. BUT, begging eventually worked! After breakfast things went pretty smoothly. Can you imagine if I had put them to bed late?!!!
With everyone in the car, we dropped Immy and Hadley off first. Did they ever look cute with their backpacks (Imogen calls them pack-packs) and lunchboxes. It was so utterly adorable and so very sad at the same time. Everyone contributed to getting them dropped off first, including Tatumn. She helped us walk and organize the girls once they got to class. We then said our goodbyes, wiped away the tears, and headed to our next destination, Tatumn's school. I was able to sneak some pictures of her in the parking lot, away from her peers, where she couldn't get too embarrassed. At first, I was met with defiance, but eventually got some forced smiles.
After everyone was in the right place, Eric and I went out to breakfast where I proceeded to panic and weep about what we had done, but we got through it and the week has been going pretty well since the first day. We even got a break with Tropical Storm Fay on Tuesday, so that was nice. So that's it. I can't believe they've begun the school journey all together this year. Looks like Mom needs to get a new life now or some hobbies anyway, although with the foot still healing, I might just take it easy for awhile....

Here We Are!!!

Summer's End Nears

So the summer hasn't exactly gone as I had envisioned it. I had hopes to do so much more with the girls, but.....

Since I can't even drive, the summer's highlights are not too plentiful. We've done about a fourth of what was originally planned and I hope to make it up to them someday. There's always next summer.....

I can't believe ALL the girls will be in school for the ENTIRE day in less than two weeks. School shopping will be a challenge, but at least the younger ones will be in uniforms. Tatumn is another story....

I'll post some new pictures soon but until then, here are a couple of Imogen jumping off the slide at the park while on vacation. Enjoy! By the way, Blogger is giving me troubles and I've been trying to post for a couple of days and today is the first day I've had any luck.
