Okay, I have been so utterly delinquent that it's not only pathetic but VERY, VERY embarrassing. I don't even have any new photos on my laptop to post so...I thought I'd put Tate on here with her yoga pose. I didn't even take this picture, Abbi or Grace did last summer! But anyway, we've just been so utterly busy around here. I don't even know where to begin.
Eric and I joined the Y.M.C.A. this month. He's definitely been much more committed than I have been this time. He's going all out and I'm still trying to get over how much a spinning class can kick your butt! It's insane!!! I much prefer the yoga. But what we're really loving about it is the free daycare! It is so nice not to have to find someone to watch the kids while we burn some calories. It's utterly convienient and the girls are happy to meet new friends and play with new toys, and it's nice they have each other, otherwise it might be a different story, especially for Imogen. I'm not so sure she'd willingly stay without her big sister.
We've also decided to move back to Englewood. Since the house is empty again, we're thinking it would be so nice to be there. Jane and Dave have been incredibly generous to let us live under the same roof with them, but we're thinking they would love some peace and quiet for a change. They've been so very patient and kind and I can't imagine how much they've put up with from us for nearly four years!
Now, maybe they'll be able to sleep at night!
And the kids...
Imogen has been swimming up a storm with Miss Amy. Since it takes her longer to adjust to things, she's been at it for some time but things are coming along very well and she should be finishing up with her in a week or so. Miss Amy is one of the best people I've ever met and has such patience and understanding with her. She's just that incredible.
On another note, Imogen has also been accepted to the public school system for preschool because of her developmental delays. There has been no label placed on her yet, but since there have been some concerns, they're going to let her in. This is such great news for us because it means she's going to be able to go to school to boost her social skills and readiness for school in general. It also means we won't be paying extravagent preschool fees for a private school, which is a definite plus. Even better is that Hadley will be going to school with her! There was a strong possibility that they weren't going to be able to go to the same school because of district lines and the closest school didn't have a preschool program and whatnot, but I was able to convince the school to keep them together. We're not completely in the clear, as I have to register Imogen and Hadley next Monday, but the principal gave it a thumbs up. I don't think she'll change her mind, but I won't breathe a sigh of relief until everything is on paper. Oh yeah, AND they will wear uniforms, too, at least I'm pretty sure they both will. Hadley will for sure. It doesn't get much better than that. Oh, and it's a mere 16 minutes from the Englewood house. How utterly convienient! I was afraid a one-way trip to school in the mornings would be close to forty-five minutes and it was definitely keeping me up at night.
So Hadley is getting ready to graduate preschool and it has been a really good year for her. I will miss Forty Carrots so very much. The staff has been great and Hadley's made some very good friends. We're both a little panicked about saying goodbye. They are having an end of the year party this Monday and I'll be sure to take pictures and POST them. I promise (although I have said this before)! School is actually not over until May 23rd, I think, but the party is early.
Hadley also started swimming lessons at the Y. because she could be a stronger swimmer. Many of the kids are phenominal swimmers in her class and I noticed that Hadley could definitely strengthen up her endurance. I'd feel more comfortable if she could tread water, for sure. So she's doing a lesson on Saturdays. She loves the pool.
Tatumn has been very busy finishing up her school year, getting ready for her end-of-the-year dance routine, and STORM tryouts at the end of May. Her game has been very impressive and the coach said she has come so far since last year and, of course, school and dance are always good. I'm looking forward to seeing the group perform their dance soon and I'm sure she's looking forward to a break from the school routine. After tryouts she'll go to Zach's for seven weeks but we're going to pay her a visit when we go up there for vacation at the end of June.
So...that's it for now. I'm sure there's much more I've forgotten to mention, but it's been too long to recall. Some of you we'll be seeing in just a mere 2 1/2 weeks and we're so very excited about that. We can't wait!
