Sanibel Island

Today we decided to get out of the house before we were to pick Tate up from the Fort Myers airport. First, we went to J.N. Ding Darling, which is a nature perserve on Sanibel Island, in hopes to see lots of Florida's birds. It was HOT! I didn't expect to see much because of the temperature, but we literally saw two birds and one alligator. That's it! Last time I went with a friend, the birds were EVERYWHERE, even flamingos were in serious abundance. So, no flamingos and the kids were slightly dissapointed about this. As soon as I mentioned the beach though, all was forgiven. As you can see, they made a new friend too and I managed to get in the water as well. Because of the recent storm, the water was a bit aggressive and choppy. The kids loved it! They ran like crazy to avoid the attack of the water with their friend. We finished the day off with picking Tatumn up in the evening, and she had an eventful weekend as well in Tennesee with a very large part of her dad's family where they boated and stayed in a cabin. So it was nice that she had fun too. So after we got Tatumn, we enjoyed some ice cream from Maggie Moos and headed home. Whew! It was a long, fun, eventful day. For some reason the kids went to bed so quickly.... I will try to get some pictures of Tatumn this week too, as she's missing from my last couple entries. Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!
