The Wee Ones

What did the girls do this weekend? They went with us to the soccer tournament as well. We neglected to bring anything to entertain them and Hadley was deeply disturbed about this initially, as some of the pictures I took would indicate, but dirt and hills can provide endless hours of entertainment for them, and before I knew it they were happily playing together with both. Thought I would share some of my favorite photos of them from the day, so here they are! By the way, Imogen did her own hair!

The End of Soccer Season

This weekend marked the end of soccer season. I realized I was not very good at getting pictures this time around. Hmmm...wonder why? Well, it was a good season. There were not many actual victories as far as scores were concerned, but the girls had many successes as a team. It was their first year together and they grew immensely as individuals and as a team. They should definitely be proud of their accomplishments.

This weekend was the Region C Tournament and the girls played their final three games. They didn't win any of the three, but they played hard, and lost 2-0 for every game. So yes, not actual victories, but again, they should feel good about what they did this season.

We are done for now, but tryouts will begin in June and then the process may or may not begin again. I think Tatumn enjoyed this season more than seasons past and she now has a desire to continue on in soccer. We will not know what will happen until tryouts in the summer though, so time will tell.

Our 6th Wedding Anniversary

Eric and I celebrated our sixth anniversary this weekend! We headed south to spend the earlier part of the day with one of my oldest friends, Colin and his girlfriend, Lorena, who were visitng from Chicago, with plans to kayak together. When we got there, they had everything ready for us, so we loaded our boats in the water and took off. I don't have any pictures from the event, as we weren't brave enough to take a non-waterproof camera with us. We had a great time though and only saw one sizeable alligator while going down the river. Afterwards, we went to lunch with them and had a good time catching up and enjoying the local fare. We said our goodbyes by late afternoon so they could pack to leave and we could spend a nice, quiet evening together. We made our way to Sanibel Island and spent some time on the beach and visited the lighthouse there. Afterwards, we went to a local restaurant where we got local seafood for dinner. It was very good. Last, we went to see Taken, and it was VERY intense. We really enjoyed it, as it was a big thriller. We called it a night after that. We were so tired from the day's events. The next morning we slept in, got lunch, saw another movie, and then picked the kids up from Grandma and Grandpa's. They seemed to have a great time too, as they did crafts and whatnot. So yes, it was a VERY enjoyable weekend and we were so lucky to be able to enjoy it as a couple. Thanks so much Grams and Gramps (Paka) for making it all possible! We are eternally grateful!

Valentine's Day 2009

Here are some quick shots I took of the girls before school on Friday. The usual tradition, it was a VERY rushed thing. I figured I haven't posted pictures of the girls in ages, so here are a few. The girls love Valentine's day, what with the Valentine exchanges, treats, and parties with their classmates. They came home very excited to show the goodies they got for the day from their friends.

15 Weeks

Okay, it was extremely hard for me to post this, and seeing it, I realize I really need to work on my posture, my fashion-sense, and you know, maybe doing my hair and putting some make-up on once in awhile. Oh well. But I wanted to post it because I would like to document some of this pregnancy with pictures. I thought fifteen weeks might be a good place to start. I haven't felt the baby move yet, so hopefully, things are okay and will be feeling him/her sometime VERY soon. It's still early, but I felt movement with Imogen very early on. I'm still queasy a good portion of the time, but I do have good days. The bitter taste in my mouth makes me ill on its own, but hey, I get to have a baby, right? I've visited with the doctor twice now, and this month's appointment went very well and I got to hear the little one's heartbeat for the first time. We've had a couple of ultrasounds (need to post these pictures at some point) and everything looked great. Early next month, we get to see how things are going again via ultrasound, and hopefully, determine the baby's gender. Did I blog about this already? I can't recall. I really have the pregnancy brain thing going already, for sure, so bare with me. Okay, so yes, I'm ultra congested and expect to remain so until the baby makes an appearance. I haven't been able to avoid this condition with any of my pregnancies, so no surprises there. So that's where we're at for the fifteen week mark. Oh yes, I must also mention that Eric strongly advises that we are having another girl, and I'm still feeling VERY strongly that we might have a boy. Time will tell....
