Imogen Can Ride a Bike

We are not on top of introducing our kids to independent bike riding in this family.  We have all sorts of gadgets like trailers and bike seats and our tandem bike that allow us to be lazy and also give us the privilege of riding to far away places without worrying about our kids getting hurt should they make a mistake or fall.  This weekend, Imogen taught herself to ride a bike.  Sure, she's nearly 8, but we told her she should learn to ride a bike with the warmer weather coming and then proceeding to give very little help and then let her go at it alone.  We merely observed and were happy to offer assistance should she need it but we could see straight away that she'd have no problems learning.  Within an afternoon, she had it.  She's more cautious than her siblings (practicing things like braking suddenly) but I'll also say she seems to be the most natural at it thus far, too.  I have pictures, I promise, but it may be a bit before we see them because they're locked away on a weird memory card and it'll be a bit before I can get them uploaded.  Anyway, the picture above is day 2 of her riding and she's super excited to practice everyday, asking first chance she gets (if only the weather would cooperate!).  Congrats, Immy!
