Rafferty - 10 weeks

Okay, so Mister is officially BIG, or as his shirt would indicate, soft, VERY soft. At his 2 month appointment, he weighed 16lbs. 9oz. and measured 24 inches long (90th percentile)! His head is the only thing that is not HUGE and is in the 75th percentile. Yeah, he's off the chart in weight, which I immediately announced to most people via text or facebook. I just felt the need to tell everyone, because while I've had bigger than big infants, he's just gigantic. Looking at him though, he's proportionate and most people don't think he looks quite THIS big. The nurse was just as shocked as I was once the weight flashed back at us on that scale. We had our appointment a little late too, as I was down with the H1N1 last week and had to reschedule. I also announced this on facebook because I was looking for LOTS of sympathy. Just kidding, but I had to share my misery. So yes, I'm all better this week for the most part. Imogen has something going on, but I think it's a head cold and hopefully, she'll be fine. We'll cross our fingers that the baby stays healthy during this yucky season too.

The girls have been great. Tatumn is doing well in school and surviving Algebra 1 Honors (yes, I can brag) so far and had an "A" at midterm. This is pretty great to me since math was NOT my strong suit and my oldest is kicking butt thus far and she's only in 8th grade. I'll still hold my breath for her, but I'm pretty confident she'll do well. If not, we'll call on Grandma Jane!

Soccer season starts for Tate next weekend too, so we'll be traveling a bit for those games. I'm looking forward to the cooler weather that usually comes with it at some point mid-season. It can't come quick enough, actually. We're dying with this heat down here (not bragging) and I'd kill for some 40 degree weather at this point! I'm totally jealous of all you Midwesterners right now.

Hadley is still loving first grade. She usually says she had a great day. She's really excited for Halloween and can't wait to decorate her pumpkin and to go trick-or-treating, of course. She continues to amaze me with her imagination and creativity. The kid came home one day and decided to build her own computer with keyboard and mouse out of paper! Today she made a cage with a swing for her new bird (she got as a prize at school) and everything she creates is always 3-D. I find it completely intriguing and strange, funny strange, of course, and just plain cute. We're always wondering what's next with her.

Imogen is doing very well. I was concerned about her days ago, but she's had a good couple of past days. She has begun to see a child psychotherapist and we're seeking more therapies for her and a possible diagnosis. Poor kid kind of took a backseat to the chaos of the new baby and whatnot, but I also wanted to see how she would fare in her new preschool. She looks forward to going to school every day and is usually very cheery when I pick her up. The teachers say she is doing much better socially than she was in the beginning but are also working on some other tasks with her. We've really been working on saying hi and goodbye to everyone at school and she's done so well with it the last few days. It's a big deal to us because she usually puts her shoulders over her ears and whispers that she's shy to me or Eric. The therapist is very excited to work with Imogen and thinks she has great potential. It's good for a mom to hear, especially when there are so many worries at times. What I love about Imogen is her great sense of humor. She's always making us laugh with her mechanical ideas and she loves to put on a show. You should see what she did with Rody and his ears this week. It's hard to explain but it resembled springs shooting into the air after she launched his ears that had tubes on them. I caught it in my peripheral and did a double-take. Eric and I were quite impressed and laughed so hard to boot. I think Eric got it on film. I should try to post it at some point, huh?

It was a good week here. Next, we look forward to a trip up north to see friends and family, not to mention that cooler weather again, of course. :) We miss everyone bunches, as usual, and hope all is well!
