Hadley Loses Her 1st Tooth

Okay, I've been out of the loop. I'm starting to really notice this since many of you have blogged recently, and I have not. Thanks for all the lovely updates, by the way. Not much to report these last couple of weeks with the exception of this big one: Hadley lost her first tooth! It wasn't too dramatic (not too many tears comparatively). It came out on it's own for the most part and Hadley was so utterly excited to get a visit from the tooth fairy. It was quite a big moment for me too. The moment it became wiggly, I had a moment where I reflected on how quickly this kid is growing up. It struck me pretty hard, but I'm dealing. And NOW, we're already moving on to loose tooth #2 AND a permanent one is already coming in to replace the lost one! WOW! Crazy, huh? The best news, possibly, is that the dentist informed me a year or, probably closer to two years ago, that Hadley would not likely need braces. This is a far cry from what I've experienced with Imogen as of recently. Our dentist, who's so completely awesome by the way, took a gander in Imogen's mouth last month and exclaimed, "Wow, this one's gonna need braces!" I then said, "It's probably from sucking on", and she cut me off and said, "Yeah." I know she assumed Imogen sucks on her thumb but when I added blanket after she was done talking, she looked a little confused. Yeah, me too, lady. :) And then, we already know about the drama in Tate's mouth. So yeah, this begins the road of what will hopefully be a naturally beautiful set of teeth/smile. Oh, I should also mention that this box was received in the mail, shortly after being informed that the first tooth was loose, from the Tooth Fairy, whose name is Matilda-Kate, for Hadley. I think she ordered it from Amazon.com and it came with a small piece of paper to record when the tooth was lost, a place for the Tooth Fairy's name, and some space for the fairy to add a small note for the tooth loser. We awoke to find that Matilda-Kate (named by her parents who couldn't agree on a name, as Dad wanted Matilda and Mom wanted, Kate ;) , was very to happy to receive such a lovely tooth and was leaving a bit of money and some small gifts for Hadley and her sister, Imogen. Needless to say, Hadley is enamored with this generous and magical fairy and can't WAIT for her next visit!

Look at that! Hads is looking at the camera AND smiling! What an adorable little toothless girl. I love Matilda-Kate's box. Missing you all sooooo much!
