San Francisco

Ah, I go back and forth with this city.  I adore it at times and others, not so much.  Certainly, it's really beautiful, but the weather is, in my opinion, not that great frequently.  We weren't freezing while there or anything, but it was dreary initially and while I usually love dreary, the dampness and wind can get old.  I think the kids had really reached their limits once we got to there, too, what with travel, camping, being so far from home, and whatnot.  So, no, they did not love San Francisco like I'd hoped they would, but I am so glad we made it there. Glad I didn't spend money on airfare to have such a lukewarm reception from them, I guess. :)  And did I mention that I, too, wasn't feeling it either?  Usually when I think of this city, or at least for the last decade or so, I'm slightly jealous of those who get to call it home.  But again, not this time.  It's okay though, because we really did have a great day there and made some memories.  We saw a lot of the touristy-sort of things but missed one of my favorite things, the sea lions.  Just TWO sea lions! TWO?!!!  It was sort of depressing.  We did get some famous sour dough bread and we all enjoyed that.  I'm not pining to go back like I have been for some time now.  And while I wasn't as enamored with it, I think San Francisco is an amazingly romantic city.  Eric and I LOVED our time there.  I'd love to return with him.  The kids?  Eh, it can wait. :)
